Tyler is an instructional equity strategist for Chicago Public Schools, a Resident Adviser at DePaul, and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Growing up on the far south side of Chicago has inspired Tyler to become an educator. He feels it is his "task to provide tool with tools, knowledge, and language to be successful." Tyler recently received the inaugural PeopleGrove scholarship. PeopleGrove is an online platform that connecting 150 campuses and organizations around the world. It ensures that students and professionals have access to a community and the connections needed to succeed. Tyler is also the recipient of the BMOA-Chicagoland (UNCF) scholarship. Don graduated from Western Illinois University in 2018 in just 3.5 years with a B.S. in Forensic Psychology. He used foreign language classes taken in high school to pass a test upon entering college, which allowed him to graduate a semester early. While at Western, Don founded a club to support minority students and secured funding from the university. He also participated in an organization called "Why I Love Black Women Program." In 2019, Don accepted a position as a residence hall director at Northern Illinois University, which comes with full tuition for his graduate degree, a 1-bedroom apartment, meal plan, and monthly stipend. Alec is a second-year at Cornell University. Alec is the recipient of a full-tuition scholarship from POSSE to attend Cornell University. A graduate of Marion Catholic High School in the south suburbs of Chicago, he started the very first black-owned investment fund. He is "looking to provide underrepresented minorities with extensive financial training to manage their own equity portfolios." Alec will intern with Bank of America in their private wealth management sector, located in Boston, MA. Keep being awesome, Alec!
